Slender arms that reach out and point the light where you want it.
Slender aluminum arms extend from a shared mounting plate, each tipped with a sculpted shade on a brass ball-and-socket joint. The arms swivel at the plate and each shade pivots on its own, so you can aim one at a chair and another at a painting. The look follows the insect-inspired sconces of the 1950s, with shades shaped like a mantis at rest. It plugs in, so there is no hardwiring.
Choose one arm or two, then the reach. The single-arm versions give a focused light over a reading chair, a desk or a bedside in three lengths; the two-arm versions add a second head for layered light over a sofa or a bed. Black or white suits mid-century, minimal or contemporary rooms.
- Aluminum arms with brass ball-and-socket joints
- One or two independently swiveling arms
- Takes one E26 / E27 bulb, not supplied
- 59″ cord with switch plug, no hardwiring
- Black or white
Free U.S. shipping on every order, arriving in 7-10 business days with tracking emailed as soon as it ships.

Slender arms, sculpted shades
Essie reaches out from the wall on slender aluminum arms, each tipped with a sculpted shade shaped like a mantis at rest. It elevates a reading chair, a sofa or a bedside with mid century character.
Light exactly where you aim
The arm swivels at the plate and each shade pivots on its brass joint, so you can aim the light at a chair, a book or a painting. Essie puts the glow right where the evening happens.
Black or white, easy living
It plugs straight in, so Essie goes up without opening a wall, in black or white to suit a mid century, minimal or contemporary room. Switched off, its long graphic line still draws the eye.

Frequently asked questions
-
One arm gives a focused light over a reading chair, a desk or a bedside. If the space allows it, two arms add a second head for layered light over a sofa or a bed.
-
Beautifully. A matching pair frames the bed and gives each side its own reach of light, and you save 10 percent when you buy two together.
-
Black draws a crisp graphic line across a light wall, while white melts into it and lets the sculpted shade do the talking. Both carry the same brass joints and mid century shape.
