Aaron is natural travertine and warm walnut, layered into one ceiling light.

Travertine is quarried stone, so the pitting and the grain shift from one piece to the next and no two fixtures come out identical. Set against it is walnut-toned wood with black, a pairing that keeps the whole thing warm where stone on its own can read cold. The GX53 lamp gives a soft, contained light rather than a wide wash, which is why this suits the rooms you move through more than the ones you sit and read in. The interest is in the material, not in ornament.

Hang it where people pass close enough to see the stone: an entry hall, the top of a staircase, the landing outside the bedrooms, a walk-in closet, a corner of a bedroom that wants a warm point of light overhead. Anywhere the ceiling is within easy sight, the grain does the work.
