Kyrene is a narrow column of stone with the light set into it at intervals.
The body is yellow travertine, cut narrow and vertical, with metal in the build. The globes are frosted glass, so what you see is the glass lit rather than the filament behind it. The base is a G9, which means an LED or an Edison filament, and the choice of light stays with you. Travertine records mineral deposit and geological movement across a span nobody managed, and the stone running up yours is the only run of it there is.
How many globes depends on how much wall there is above the fixture. Take the single where the run is short — beside a doorway, above a switch plate, in an entry that needs a mark more than it needs light. Two suits a bedroom wall or a corridor of ordinary height. Three wants a stairwell, a double-height hall, or the tall stretch either side of a wide mirror, where anything shorter would look stranded.
