Hippolyte is solid travertine set on wood.
Four materials: travertine, metal, glass, wood. That shade is quarried stone, formed over geological spans according to the supplier's own note, which is why every shade is marked differently. Wood carries it, and a swivel sits between the two so the beam ends up where you want it. Power comes off a plug with a switch on the cord — stone lighting that needs no electrician.
Walnut with yellow travertine is the only combination made, and that is the right call — warm stone and warm wood belong together, and a second pairing would only dilute it. Stone wants to be seen close: a nightstand wall, a hall, an alcove where someone passes within a few feet of it. It will take a ceiling as well as a wall.
