Astyoche is a white cylinder on walnut that lights a corner and then keeps quiet.
Wood and fabric, and nothing else — a walnut or natural wood base under a white cylindrical shade. The fabric diffuses without tinting, so a warm bulb stays warm and a neutral one stays neutral, which is more than most shades manage. It runs on a standard E26 or E27 screw base up to 40W, enough for a reading chair, and the switch is on the cord where your hand already is.
Walnut is the darker of the two and behaves like furniture: it holds up beside a leather chair, a dark floor, a room with some weight to it. The lighter natural wood goes the other way, and belongs where the room is already pale — oak boards, white walls, linen.
