Hypnos is a globe of stone that lets its light out at the bottom and keeps the rest.
Yellow travertine with metal in the fixing, cut into a globe and left with the veining and texture the quarry gave it. The only opening is at the base, which means what reaches the room is a narrow warm wash rather than a lit object — the stone still reads as stone with the light on. The bulb is a GU10, the twist-lock spot type, so replacements sit on any hardware shelf. Travertine forms through change nobody supervised across geological time, so the globe you get is the only one that came out of that block.
One size, one finish. Because so little light escapes, this is not the fixture for lighting a room — it is the one for marking a wall. A row of them up a hallway does far more than a single one anywhere, and a pair beside a bed gives you enough to move by without waking the other person.
