Ananke took its shape from a cloud and kept it.
The body is DuPont paper over metal — paper's softness with none of paper's fragility, which is what lets it hold an organic form instead of a manufactured one. Light passes through the material rather than around it, so what reaches the room has no edge to it at all. A warm 3000K LED is sealed inside, and it goes on a wall or a ceiling — unusual latitude for something this sculptural.
Two finishes. All white keeps it quiet and lets the form do the work, which suits a lounge or a bedroom where the light should register and the object should not. White with black gives it an outline, and that version holds its own in a room that already has dark frames, dark joinery or a dark floor.
