Klotho sets a walnut ring around the light and rests it on quarried stone.
The base is yellow travertine, smooth-finished, and the ring around the bulb is dark walnut — two materials that were grown or laid down rather than manufactured. A black metal arm holds the two together. The bulb is a GX53, which takes an LED or an Edison filament, so what the light looks like stays your decision rather than the factory's. Travertine forms through mineral deposit and geological movement over a span nobody controlled, and the stone on yours records that and nothing else.
One size, one finish, and the only thing left to pick is the switch. A pull chain hangs off the fixture and asks nothing of the wiring around it — the answer beside a bed, or in a room where the switch ended up on the wrong wall. A wall switch keeps the sconce bare and puts the control by the door, which is better in a hallway or a living room where you turn the light on as you pass.
