Perseis is a cylinder of travertine on a pivot, pointed at whatever you want seen.
The body is a single travertine cylinder, the ceiling mount is walnut or a lighter natural wood, and a metal pivot sits between them so the head aims. The socket is E27 and takes up to 40 watts, which for a spotlight this size means you choose the beam by choosing the bulb rather than living with whatever a factory decided. And because the shade is stone rather than pressed metal, it reads as part of the room instead of part of the equipment.
Two wood tones on the mount, both against the same travertine. Walnut is the darker and vanishes into a beam or a dark ceiling; the lighter natural wood sits better on white plaster. What you aim it at matters more than either: a painting, a shelf of books, an alcove, the long blank run of a hallway wall.
