Hyperion is a column of quarried stone with the light living inside it.
The column is yellow travertine finished with walnut wood at the base, and it takes an ordinary screw-in bulb rather than a sealed LED. Put a warm-white one in and the light comes through the stone instead of past it — an amber-honey tone that lights the veining from within. Travertine is laid down over geological time by mineral deposits and thermal springs, so veining, tone and texture differ on every piece, and yours will not match the photographs exactly. That is what you are buying when you buy stone instead of a factory shade. A slender candle or stick bulb suits the form best.
Two heights, and the choice is about how much wall you are filling. The short one is enough beside a bed, in a reading corner, or on a hallway wall where a stone column is presence enough on its own. The tall one belongs where the wall has room to give — a living room, a dining wall, the stretch beside a doorway — and reads as sculpture with the light off.
