Pleione puts a frosted glow behind polished brass and leaves it at that.
The body is brass — electroplated, cut and polished — and the diffuser is frosted acrylic. A bright metal edge around light with the glare taken out of it, and nothing else going on. The LED is integrated at around 7W, so it draws almost nothing and there is nothing inside it to replace. A push-button switch handles on and off; it does not dim.
The lamp does not vary; the light does. Warm deepens the brass and settles into a bedroom or a landing. Cool keeps everything crisp and earns a place by a mirror, or on a stair where seeing clearly matters more than feeling cosy.
