Alkmaion is a flat black ring hung with smoky glass, and the glass is what does the work.
Each shade is ribbed glass in smoky gray, curved rather than flat, so the light breaks up as it passes through instead of arriving as a hard disc. Against the black metal frame the effect is graphic when the fixture is off and soft when it is on. The whole thing is only 4.72 inches deep, so it hangs as a horizontal plane rather than a mass.
Pick your control before you pick your size. The 3 Step Dimming version clicks through 3000K, 4500K and 6000K from an ordinary wall switch but holds brightness fixed. The Dimmable version comes with a remote that sets both colour temperature and brightness anywhere across 3000K to 6000K. Same fixture, different electronics - and the remote version is the one to take if you want to drop the level late in the evening.
Sizes run 29.5, 37.4 and 43.9 inches across at 36W, 48W and 60W, covering a rated 161 to 322 square feet. It hangs on a cord at an adjustable length and hardwires at 110V for indoor rooms.

The 10-Light is a 44-inch fixture. At 33 lb and nearly four feet across it wants a large dining table or an open living room, not a standard bedroom - the 6-Light at 29.5 inches is the safer choice over a normal table. Whichever size you take, match the ceiling box to the weight.
