Hestia is real alabaster, and you know it the moment you move it. The body is stone, the metal around it is gold-finished, and the shade is plain white fabric, so the stone is what you look at. There is one version and one size, which leaves you only the question of where it goes. On a hall console it holds the wall; beside a bed it does not crowd the nightstand.
On a nightstand it becomes the lamp you reach for last thing at night and turn off again without sitting up. On a console or a sideboard it does the other job — the one light you leave on when the rest of the room has gone dark. Its weight matters on a narrow hall table, where a lighter lamp gets knocked. A room with wood, cream or a dark painted wall will take it without anything being rearranged.
