Koronis is a bird that has caught the light and holds it in its beak.
The body is a hand-detailed resin sculpture on a metal fitting, finished in white or black, and the bulb sits exposed in the beak rather than under a shade. That exposed bulb is the centerpiece of the whole design: put a warm Edison filament bulb in it and the raven looks as though it is carrying a flame. It plugs into a wall outlet on a 59-inch cord with an inline switch, so it goes wherever there is a socket. What you get is a low, warm pool of light for atmosphere rather than reading, which is exactly what a desk, shelf or side table wants in the evening.
Two poses, two colors. The resting raven is the longer, lower of the two, and it suits a desk or a wide bookshelf where it has room to stretch out. The perched raven stands taller and reads better from across the room, which makes it the one for a bedside table or a narrow hallway console. White gives you contrast against dark wood; black gives you drama against a pale wall.
