Endymion puts a glass orb under a dome of quarried stone, once, twice or three times.
Each dome is yellow travertine, the orb beneath it is glass, and the body is walnut — three materials, and not one of them pretending to be another. The bulb is a G9, which takes an LED or an Edison filament, so the character of the light is a decision you make at the hardware store rather than one the factory made for you. A pull chain hangs off it, which is the detail that dates the piece in the right direction. Travertine forms through physical and chemical change over geological time, and the dome on yours is the only one cut from that piece.
One orb, two or three, and they are not three of the same thing. The single is the bedside and reading-corner size, where the fixture should sit close to the wall and stay out of the way. The two-orb version runs wider than it is tall, which suits the space above a console or alongside a mirror. Three spans a broad wall — a dining room, a landing — and comes with a canopy plate long enough to match it.
