Xanthe is a cluster of frosted glass globes held on a thin gold frame.
The globes are frosted opal glass, so the source is softened rather than exposed - the light comes out even and glare free, and each globe reads as a solid ball of warmth rather than a bright filament. Because the frame is deliberately slender and electroplated gold, it almost disappears against a pale ceiling and the globes read as if they were floating.
It is a tall fixture at 39'' from canopy to lowest globe, spanning 28.9'' across, and the rod adjusts down from 36'' so you can set it to your ceiling. That height is what makes it work over a stairwell, a double-height entrance or a low coffee table where you can look up into it. The E12 sockets take standard candelabra bulbs, which are easy to source and change.

Give it room to hang: at over three feet tall this is not a fixture for a standard eight-foot ceiling in a walkway. It is at its best where you have height to spare or where nobody passes underneath - a stairwell, an entrance, or centred over a table. Bulbs are not included, so order E12 warm white to match the gold. Because the glass is frosted, the shape of the bulb does not show, so any warm white E12 will do.
