Alekto is a black ring with the light hung inside it.
Glass shades are spaced symmetrically around the circle, so the fixture holds its shape from any angle in the room - there is no front or back to get right when you install it. The black metal ring gives the whole thing an outline, and the shades sit on it like cut stones caught mid tumble.
Each shade is a smoky grey glass solid, faceted like a rough-cut gem, with a lamp seated inside it. The facets break the source into dozens of small reflections rather than letting it through in one beam, so lit it reads as a ring of glowing stones rather than a row of bare bulbs. The 1.8 m cord adjusts freely, which is what makes this one flexible: you can hang it low and tight over a dining table, or let it drop into an open stairwell.

Set the drop before you fix it: the 51'' overall height already includes a long cord run, so over a dining table you will usually want to shorten it well below the full 1.8 m - around 30 to 36'' above the tabletop is the usual mark. Keep the full length for a stairwell or an entrance where the drop is the point. A warm E12 lamp brings the most colour out of the smoked glass.
