Pheres is a sketch in black steel that happens to give off light.

Slim bars cross and stack down the drop, each one lit along its length, so the fixture reads as a set of drawn lines held in mid-air rather than a solid object. The body is iron and aluminium under a high-temperature baked finish - it resists rust and wear and keeps its shape over years rather than sagging at the joints.

Because the drop runs from 39 inches on the 3-light to 118 inches on the 9-light, this is a fixture that can fill a stairwell or a double-height entrance where most chandeliers look stranded. The hanging length is adjustable on every size, so you can bring it down over a dining table instead if that is the job. Illumination area is 108 to 161 square feet.

Three light options are sold as separate variants. Warm White at 3000K is the softer, golden one; White at 6000K is crisp and bright; and the Dimmable version gives you a remote that sweeps 3000K to 6000K and takes the brightness up and down with it. All three run flicker-free on built-in LED chips with bulbs included.

Take the Dimmable version if the room does more than one job. The fixed White and Warm White variants are cheaper and perfectly good where the room has a single mood - a hallway, a stairwell. But over a dining table that is also a homework table, the remote earns its cost: one control moves both colour and brightness, so you are not stuck with the light you picked at checkout.
