Lethe is a column of dark stone with the light kept inside it.
A slim cylindrical body of genuine travertine, finished in matte black so the color is even while the pores and the weight of real stone stay exactly where they were. Metal carries the wiring. Its output is focused rather than spread, so it reads as atmosphere on a wall instead of illumination for a room. A G4 bulb goes inside, and a warm-toned one is what the black finish asks for.
Three heights on one diameter. The shortest is the practical one for a nightstand wall or a tight hallway. The middle length suits most rooms without argument. The longest is for high ceilings and for flanking a mirror, where the reach is the whole point. All three switch from a pull chain, so a room without a convenient switch is not a problem.
