Phoinike is real ostrich feather, and the color you choose decides the whole corner it stands in. There are sixteen of them, from white and champagne through claret, peacock blue and black, on an iron and resin body. Pick it the way you would pick an armchair rather than the way you pick a bulb. It stands on the floor, so it goes wherever the room runs short of light.
In a living room it belongs in the corner behind a chair, and that corner stops being dead space. Turn it warm for the evening and white when you actually need to see something. A pale shade keeps quiet in the room; claret or peacock blue is the first thing anyone notices. It is a lamp you look at as much as you switch on.

Champagne: warmer than white, and kinder against cream walls and oak.
