Kassandra gives you an even round light and asks for an outlet, not an electrician.
Glass, yellow travertine and wood. The shade is a white sphere, which is what evens the light out and keeps the glare down — you end up with a lit ball, not a lit bulb. Behind it sits a G9. It runs off a cord with an inline on/off switch and a plug on the end, so where it goes is a decision you can change later. Travertine forms across geological time through processes nobody arranged, and the stone in it is its own.
One size, two woods, both against the same beige stone. Walnut is the darker of them and holds a wall that has some color on it. The lighter wood sits quietly next to oak and pale plaster. Either belongs beside a bed, above a console, or in an entry — anywhere there is a socket and no ceiling rose worth the trouble of chasing.
