Astraia is a circle of solid stone with a light somewhere inside it.
Yellow travertine and nothing else — no wood, no glass, no metal in the finish. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to change and no socket to look at. The pitted texture of the stone sits against a plain round outline, which is the contrast the whole piece is built on, and what it lays on the wall is soft rather than aimed. Travertine forms through physical and chemical change across thousands of years, and the round you get came out of one block that existed nowhere else.
One size and one finish, so what is left is how it turns on. A pull chain hangs off the fixture and asks nothing of the wall beyond the fixture itself — useful beside a bed. A wall switch keeps it bare, which is what you want when a pair are going up along a hallway and the eye should run straight down the line.
