Melanthe is four different stones wearing the same shape.
A marble body carrying a white glass shade, with a G9 bulb inside it. The glass is what softens the light — you see the shade lit, never the capsule behind it. The marble is genuine and cut from four different stones: black, a deep crimson called Bulgari red, a red-and-white striped one, and brown. Because it is real marble, the veining on your piece will not be the veining in the photograph, which is the whole reason to buy stone rather than a moulding.
The stone is the decision here. Black is the safe one and reads as an object on any contemporary wall. Bulgari red is the loud one, and it works where the room is already committed — deco, maximalist, a hallway with opinions. The red and white stripe brings pattern rather than color, which suits a room that is otherwise plain. Brown is the warmest and sits easily with oak, linen and anything earthy. All four take the same wall and the same switch.
