The wood on Erasmia is left rough — deep splits down the grain, saw marks, corners still square. It hangs as a tall wood post, and four lanterns step off it on dark metal scroll arms, each one at a different height. The lanterns are clear-sided cylinders capped top and bottom in the same dark metal, so the whole bulb shows through. Lit, the bulbs are the brightest thing in the fixture and the wood behind them goes warm.
It wants a room with some texture already in it — a stone floor, an exposed beam, a scrubbed table — and it does its best work over a table after dark, when the light comes down in four separate patches. Because every bulb is on show, the ones you screw in are part of the design: clear filament bulbs make it sharper, frosted ones soften it. It lights 54 to 108 square feet and runs off the wall switch, with nothing to pair and nothing to set up.
