Aigialeia is a gloss white gourd wearing a fabric shade.
Ceramic and fabric: a ribbed gourd body in gloss white, to borrow the supplier's phrase, under a shade with enough texture in its weave to stop the whole thing turning formal. An E14 goes in, rated to 15W — a modest bulb for a lamp this size — so expect atmosphere rather than reading light. Fired ceramic gives it heft, and switching at the cord saves you reaching under the shade.
Every one of them has the same white body; the shade is where the decision lives. Beige, khaki and light brown are the neutrals and the easiest to keep for years. Light yellow, light pink and light blue tint the light as much as the room, which is worth knowing before you settle on one.
