Hilaeira makes a bulb behave like sun through a paper screen.
The shade is translucent washi, made from mulberry bark and bonded by hand onto a white metal body. Because it is handmade, the paper carries small variations, and a trace of glue along the edge is part of the process rather than a fault. It takes standard E26 or E27 bulbs, LED or Edison, and a warm 2700K filament is what the paper was made for. The paper softens everything it lets through, which is why this is a light you can sit under all evening.
Seven sizes, and the drop is really what you are choosing. The shorter ones belong over a bedside table, a dining table or a hallway. The tall ones are made for a stairwell or a double-height entry, where the fall of paper is the whole point. One size carries five bulbs instead of three, for a room that needs more light out of a single fixture.
