Epione is a reading light that hides in the wall until you press it.
The body is aluminum alloy and metal, hardwired into a junction box so the wall plate finishes flush and nothing has to sit on the nightstand. Press the head and it pops out and lights; push it back until it is flush and the power cuts. There are no buttons and no switch plate to find in the dark, and the head pivots, so the light lands on the page and leaves the other side of the bed alone. The LED is integrated and warm, the same temperature as a bedside bulb you would choose yourself.
Matte white disappears against a pale wall, and matte black does the opposite and reads as a deliberate line beside the headboard. Copper and bronze are the ones for a room with wood, leather or linen in it, where a warm metal belongs. Chrome and nickel keep company with modern hardware, so they suit a bedroom that already has metal on the doors and lamps. It installs on the left or the right, which means a matching pair either side of the bed.

There are two versions of the same lamp. The standard one turns on and off at the head; the dimmable one needs a Triac dimmer switch on the circuit, which is worth wiring in if you read late.
