Praxidike sinks into the wall and takes its power from a socket.
Aluminum alloy and metal, recessed so it sits level with the wall when closed, and this is the corded version of it — the cord is what makes it possible where the wiring was never planned for. The maker suggests embedding that cord if you can reserve a channel, or surface-mounting it if you cannot. Output is 160 lumens of warm 3000K at about 2W, which reads a page and leaves the room dark, and it goes in either way up.
Four finishes. Nickel and matt black stay quiet; copper, and matt black with copper, run warmer and look chosen. Then the profile — squared off or cylindrical, at either of two heights — and the switch type comes attached to the height. The shorter one carries a hidden switch on its base; the taller one has a button. Settle the switch and the height follows.

Settle this before you order: the page states plainly that it is not compatible with standard U.S. junction boxes.
