Helios carries a dome of quarried stone out from the wall on a curved arm.
The shade is yellow travertine, domed, with the pores and the veining of the quarried block still showing. It sits on a curved metal arm off a wooden wall plate — stone, wood and metal in one fixture, none of them pretending to be the others. The bulb is a G9, so it takes an LED or an Edison filament and both are stocked everywhere. Travertine is deposited by mineral springs over a span nobody arranged, which means the veining on yours is the only one like it.
One size, two finishes. Gold is the warmer of the two and answers the honey already in the stone, which is why it belongs in a bedroom or a reading corner. Black holds a harder line and keeps the eye on the travertine itself — the better call on a white hallway wall, or anywhere the room is busy enough already.
