Panope sets a circle of wood against a face of quarried stone.
Yellow travertine and wood, and the wood is the circle — that is the whole composition, and it does not ask for anything else. The LED is integrated and runs warm, so the light is fixed at the right temperature and there is nothing to source later. Two wood tones are sold against the same stone. Travertine is deposited by mineral springs across geological time, which means the face of the piece you get was settled long before it was cut.
Three sizes and two woods. The smallest is a bedside or hallway piece, where the circle should register and then get out of the way. The middle size holds a bedroom wall or the space beside a wardrobe. The largest is for a living room or a landing, where you want the fixture read as an object rather than as lighting. Walnut is the darker tone and stands up to a painted or papered wall; the lighter wood keeps to itself against pale plaster.
