Danae is a disc of overlapping metal leaves, lit from within.
The body is solid metal, ground and polished rather than coated, which is why the surface catches light the way it does - each leaf picks up a different angle and the whole ring shifts as you move around it. In gold it is warm and openly decorative. In black the same shape turns graphic and quiet, and the light coming out of it is the only thing you see.
Behind the leaves sits an acrylic diffuser, so the LED never shows as a point source - the light comes out soft and even across the underside. At only 7.09 inches deep it stays close to the ceiling, which is what makes the 31-inch and two-tier versions workable in rooms that are wide rather than tall.
Everything is on the remote. Color temperature runs steplessly from 3000K to 6000K and brightness with it, so the same fixture gives you a low warm glow over dinner and a full cool wash when you are cleaning or working. Coverage spans 86 to 269 square feet depending on which size you take.
