Petraia - Natural Travertine Pendant Light
- Real travertine, every shade patterned differently
- Five layouts, from single to four heads
- Works on a dimmer, switch not included
Petraia stacks two drums of travertine with a band of wood between them, and the stone keeps the surface holes it comes with — so the pattern on your shade is not the pattern on anyone else’s. The light leaves in two places: down through the open bottom, and out of the gap where the wood band sits. That gives you a warm pool on the table and a lit edge on the fixture itself. The same shade is used on every configuration, so a two-head over the counter and a four-head over the table look like they belong together.
One Petraia on its own suits a nightstand or a reading chair. Put three or four in a row and they will carry a full dining table. It runs off a dimmer, so the same fixture does dinner and then does the rest of the evening quieter. Over food it puts the light on the plates and lets the rest of the room settle back — that is dinner light.
Single: on its own — over a nightstand, a reading chair, or the end of a kitchen counter.
2 Heads: for a breakfast table or a narrow island, where two is enough and three would crowd it.
3 Heads Linear: the usual choice over a six-seat dining table.
3 Heads Round: the same three shades gathered in a cluster instead of a line — for an entry or a stairwell.
4 Heads: for a long dining table or a full-size island.
Walnut Color & Yellow Travertine: the warmest of the three — the darker wood finish with the yellow stone, easy in a room that is already warm.
Walnut Color & Black Travertine: the boldest — the black stone holds its own against dark cabinets or a painted kitchen.
Wood Color & Yellow Travertine: the quietest — the lighter wood finish with the yellow stone, for a room you want to keep light.

No two are the same
The shade is genuine travertine, not a print or a coating, so the holes and the veining in yours are yours alone. A straight stone drum with a wood band wrapped around its middle, and the light coming out of the open bottom.
One shade, five ways to hang it
Single over a nightstand, two over a breakfast table, three in a line over a six seater, three in a cluster for an entry, or four over a long table. The same shade every time, so a run in the kitchen and a run in the dining room still match.
Dinner light, then evening light
Put it on a dimmer and one fixture does both. Bright enough over the plates while you eat, and low enough afterwards that the room settles.
Frequently asked questions
-
Yes, genuine travertine, and it comes with the surface holes and fine cracks the stone is born with. They are part of the material rather than faults, and they do not affect how the lamp works.
-
Single for a nightstand, a reading chair or the end of a counter. Two for a breakfast table or a narrow island. Three in a line is the usual choice over a six seat table, three in a cluster suits an entry or a stairwell, and four covers a long table or a full island.

It is hardwired, so an electrician is the safe route. The wire is 59 inches and shortens to your ceiling, and it works on a slope of up to 30 degrees. Each shade takes one E26 or E27 bulb up to 40W.
-
Most fixtures install like a standard light fitting and include the needed mounting hardware. For hardwired pieces we recommend a qualified electrician.
