Hermokrates hangs a cluster of rounded squares at different heights and lets them overlap. Each frame is black coffee on the outside and flat white on the inside face, and that white face is where the light comes out — unbroken all the way around, with no dots to count. The frames are aluminum, the lit faces PMMA. From directly underneath the squares close up into one figure; from the side they separate again.
Over a table it puts light down from several places instead of one, which is what stops a long table going dark at the ends. The remote version is the one to take if the room does more than one job — it moves from warm evening light to something crisp enough to work under — while the two fixed settings suit a switch position that is already spoken for. Between the two sizes, the larger is the safer bet in a room you are still furnishing.
White: the cool one. For a kitchen or a room you actually work in. This is the 6000K setting.
Warm White: the evening one. For a dining room or a living room, where the light is meant to settle things down. This is the 3000K setting.
Dimmable with Remote Control: moves across the range from the handset. Go with it for a room that has to do daytime and evening both.
22'' L x 19'' W: three squares. For a breakfast table, a two-person dining table, or a hallway where the cluster can stand on its own.
32'' L x 30'' W: five squares, and a wider spread. For a full dining table or over a seating group, where the fixture has to hold the middle of the room.

One shape from below, many from the side
Rounded square frames overlap at different heights. Stand underneath and they close up into one figure. Step to the side and they separate again. The outside is coffee brown, the inner faces flat white.
Made for long evenings
The warm white setting is the evening one, made for a dining room or a living room. Take the remote version instead and you can move from that soft warm light to something crisp enough to work under.

No. The lights are built in, so there is nothing to screw in and nothing to change later. It runs at up to 50W and is hardwired at 110 to 120 volts, so an electrician connects it to your ceiling.

The 22 by 19 inch has three squares and weighs 9 lb, which suits a breakfast table, a table for two, or a hallway. The 32 by 30 inch has five squares, weighs 16 lb and spreads wider, for a full dining table or a seating group. Both hang on a 40 inch cord you can adjust.

Only on the dimmable version, which comes with a remote. White is the crisp 6000K setting and Warm White is the 3000K one, and both of those are fixed, so pick one of them when your wall switch is already spoken for.
