Iolaos lets you choose the glass and the body separately, so no two of them ever have to look the same. Four glass colors against six body colors is twenty-four combinations before you get to size or wiring. Green glass on a black body is quiet; pink glass on a yellow body is not. Both halves are yours to pick, which is why two of these can hang in one house and still not look like the same light.
Over a kitchen island a row of them does the work and gives you something to look at while you cook. In a dining room, one over the table is enough on its own. It wants a dry room — a kitchen, a dining room or a bedroom, not a covered porch. And the color is there with the light off as much as with it on.
Green glass: the easiest of the four — it holds up against wood, white or a dark wall.
Orange glass: the warmest, and the one that carries a room on a gray day.
Pink glass: softer than it sounds; a bedroom or a hallway choice.
Frosted Green glass: green again, but frosted — the calmer of the two greens.
Red body: the strongest body color, and it wants the rest of the room fairly plain.
Pink body: soft against the pink or frosted green glass; a bedroom choice.
Green body: match it to the green glass for one color throughout, or set it against the orange.
Black body: the quiet one — it steps back and lets the glass do the talking.
White body: the least visible of the six, especially on a white ceiling.
Yellow body: warm and cheerful; good with the orange or the pink glass.

Two choices, not one
Four glass colours against six body colours, so no two of them ever have to look the same. Green glass on a black body is quiet. Pink glass on a yellow body is not.
Colour that works in daylight too
The glass holds its colour with the light off, so it is doing something for the room all day. The wider size is 13.8 inches across, enough to sit on its own over a dining table.
A row over the island
The smaller size is 9.8 inches across, which is the one to hang in a row over a counter. The cord is 59 inches and adjusts, so you can get them level.

No. It takes one G9 bulb up to 15W, which you buy separately. Whether it dims depends on the bulb you fit, so choose a dimmable one if you want that.

For the hardwired versions, yes, and it is worth it because this is glass overhead. The plug in versions are for a room with no ceiling box, or a rental. Either way there is some assembly.

Dry rooms only, so a kitchen, a dining room, a living room or a bedroom. Not a covered porch or a bathroom. In a child's room, mount it out of reach.
