Glaukos is a vertical bar of dark stone with one lit sphere held at its center.
The backplate is porous black travertine, run vertically, and the globe is opal glass — rough stone against smooth light, with nothing in between to soften the argument. The stone is genuine travertine given a matte black surface, so its weight and its pores survive the finish. A G9 bulb inside the globe throws even, diffused light, and the sphere never shows you where the light is coming from. There is a pull chain on the fixture, and it will run off a standard wall switch as well.
Three heights off the same bar diameter and the same globe. The shortest is an accent, the kind of thing that flanks artwork or a mirror.
