Alkaia holds a lit disc out from the wall on a slim arm.
Yellow travertine and walnut wood, with the arm carrying the disc clear of the wall and the LED integrated behind it. What it puts out is warm and diffused rather than aimed, so it works as an accent and not as the light you read by. There is one finish — walnut against yellow stone — and no second version to weigh up. Travertine forms over geological time through processes nobody controlled, so the disc yours was cut from is the only one like it.
Two disc sizes at the same height and the same reach from the wall. The smaller is the bedside and hallway size, where the arm should not put the disc into anybody's path. The larger takes a bedroom or a living-room wall and reads properly from the other side of the room. Because both project the same distance, mixing them along one wall still lines up.
