Dione lifts a lit sphere of opal glass off a base of textured stone.
Travertine, metal and glass. The stone base is left textured, which gives the piece its grip on a plain wall, and the opal globe above it does the diffusing — a serene, even light with nothing sharp in it. Its G9 socket keeps warmth and brightness in your hands. Every base is quarried, not moulded, so the pores and tone belong to that one piece.
Nothing varies except where it goes — and it runs off an outlet, not a junction box. The inline switch sits on a long cord, which makes it the answer for a bedroom wall with no wiring, a rented flat, or a spot you may want to change your mind about. Two of them level across a bed still read as a considered installation, cords and all.

No electrician needed
It runs off an outlet on a 59 inch cord with a switch inline, so it goes up on a wall that was never wired for a light. Take it down and there is nothing to patch.

The opal glass does the softening, so the glow is even and serene with no bright point to look at. The textured stone underneath gives it its grip on a plain wall.
