Dexamene is glass and polished metal, trailing a cord to the socket.
Iron, metal and glass, fixed to a wall but wired to a plug rather than a junction box — no electrician, and nothing in the plaster but two screws. The glass carries the curves the original credits to the Jazz Age. Two switches come with it, one inline on the cord and one a chain you pull on the fitting itself, which means either hand can reach a switch, in bed or at the door. Supply your own bulb.
Two metals, two glasses, four combinations. Gold against beige runs warmest and most convincingly period. Chrome against white is colder and more current, better suited to hallways and stairs. And because it plugs in, you can hang it one place, live with it, then move it somewhere else without patching a wall.
