Ten glass flowers hang off Eumelia's arms, and every one of them opens downward into the room. The petals are scalloped at the rim, and the shades sit at two levels — a ring of them around the outside, one dropped lower in the middle — so the fixture has depth to it. The arms are iron, curved, and painted to match: green with the leaves picked out, or white throughout. Lit, each shade glows from the inside and the light drops out of the open mouth of the petals.
Because ten shades share the work, the light reaches right across a full living room or a generous bedroom, and no one corner of it gets everything. The switch cycles warm, neutral and daylight one click at a time; it changes the color of the light, not the brightness. Green makes the fixture the thing people look at; white lets it settle into the ceiling and leaves the flower shapes doing the work quietly.
Green: the decorative one. Choose it against cream or off-white walls, where you want the ceiling to be the first thing anyone looks up at.
White: for a pale ceiling, where you want the flower shapes and none of the color. Unlit it sits almost flat against a white ceiling; lit, it is unmistakable.
