Lithea is a smooth oval stone with a light held inside it.
The shade is clear crystal glass, cast in the shape of a smooth oval stone, and it sits on a chrome metal base. Inside is an integrated COB LED of about 3W, with no bulb to fit or replace, so the whole piece reads as glass lit from within rather than a lamp with a shade on it. It plugs in, with an inline push-button switch on the cord, so it lives wherever there is an outlet, no wiring and no electrician. The COB chip runs warm, 40–50°C at the surface in normal use, so give it a little air and keep fabric off it. The name is Sanskrit for soul, after the holy oval stones the designer set out to recreate in glass.
Pick the light for the mood you want. Warm Light is the everyday one, a soft glow for a bedside table or the end of a sofa. Blue purple light turns the stone cool and quiet, the light for a shelf in a room you wind down in. Sunset red is the low-evening setting, warm enough to sit beside with the main lights off.
