Elare disappears into the wall until you reach for it.
The body is aluminum alloy, wired into the wall itself rather than screwed onto a box, with an integrated LED behind it. The light is warm white at 3000K and runs to about 160 lumens — enough to read by, and not so much that it wakes the person beside you. Pull the head out and it comes on; push it back and it goes off. The finishes run from dark metal to bright, so it can sit quietly against the wall or catch the light like the rest of your hardware.
Two decisions, and they come as a pair. The shorter body keeps its switch out of sight; the taller one gives you a button to press. Then choose the form: square if the rest of your hardware is square, a cylinder if you want it softer. Either one belongs beside a bed, above a nightstand, or in a study where a desk lamp would eat the surface you work on — and because it can be mounted with the light pointing left or right, a pair either side of the bed can both aim at the page.
