Elektryone is a linen cone resting on walnut and brass.
Walnut, brass and linen — three materials that age rather than wear out. The shade is pleated and cone-shaped, to use the original's description, and linen over an E26 delivers warm, grainy light rather than a clean beam. Walnut against brass is a deliberately old pairing, and it repays that: this will look better in five years than it does new.
One combination exists — brass and walnut under white linen — which takes the choosing away and leaves the placing. Hang it where the wall has something on it already: paneling, a headboard, a run of books — because linen and wood look thin against bare white plaster. It wires in, so the circuit decides the rest.
