Akakallis opens like a flower, layer on layer of pleated white fabric.
The shade is built from multiple layers of finely pleated white fabric, gathered above into a gold canopy with gold fittings to match. Light passes through the layers rather than around them, so what reaches the room is soft and evenly diffused instead of hard-edged. The warm metal above all that white is most of the appeal, and it reads from across a room. It takes a standard E26 or E27 bulb, and a warm 2700K Edison filament is the one that makes the fabric look lit from inside.
Four sizes, and the choice is about the room rather than the ceiling. The smallest suits a bedside, a hallway, or a pair over a narrow console. The two middle sizes are the everyday answer over a kitchen island or a round dining table. The largest is for a high ceiling or an entry where you want the fabric noticed from the doorway.
